One thing that is critical to know about the blockchain technology and cryptocurrency space is that it is multifaceted. Although the industry as a whole is technology-oriented, there are more options out there for those who have other important skills, including marketing, program and project management, and communication. Having a career in crypto may look like you are going to be trading all day, but there is more to it than meets the eye. Each one of the positions that we are listing below plays an important role in making the industry what it is today. 1. Legal Project Manager, Facebook/Calibra, New York City, NY, US

If you follow what is happening in the cryptocurrency industry, you have heard that in June 2019 Facebook announced its plans for Libra – a new global cryptocurrency that runs on the Libra network. Calibra is a newly formed Facebook subsidiary whose goal is to provide financial services that will enable people to access and participate in the Libra network. Its first product will be a digital wallet for Libra. The company’s vision is to reinvent money and transform the global economy so people everywhere can live better lives.

While it is still early in the process of developing Calibra, the company is looking for talented, passionate, mission-driven people to join its team. Here is one role that may be a good fit for those with a project management background. Facebook’s Legal Project Management Office (PMO) is hiring a Legal Project Manager to serve its growing Legal team with a focus on Compliance, Legal and Regulatory for Calibra. The ideal candidate should have strong project management skills, communication skills, and an ability to see the big picture and incorporate problem solving, critical thinking and tactical execution into his/her daily work.

2. Country Manager – Philippines, Celo, Manila, Philippines

Celo aims to remove the barriers for large-scale adoption of cryptocurrencies as means-of-payment. Using a novel address-based encryption algorithm, the Celo protocol makes sending money as easy as sending a text message. Celo is an open protocol enabling many to participate in the system, even with a budget Android smartphone. The first application launching on the Celo platform is a social payments and money transfer app, aimed at developing markets.

If you are passionate about Celo’s financial inclusion mission and have project and team management background, look into this position. As Country Manager, you will oversee all projects and programs around the launch of Celo in the market. You will be responsible for the implementation of Celo’s rollout in the Philippines, including on-the-ground project management, hiring, and engagement with key local partners and regulators.
